Siobhan and Chris - childminding in a family setting

We are a husband and wife team who started childminding in 2006.  We aim to promote excellent childcare in a loving and safe family setting to give you peace of mind whilst at work. 

We are Ofsted registered, having recently been awarded an OUTSTANDING grade, and have completed the 'Introduction to Childcare Practice' course, and obtained an NVQ 3 in 'Chilldren's Care, Learning and Development'.

We are currently working towards a Foundation Degree in Early Years, and as part of this degree, we have attained a Level 4 'Certificate in Early Years Practice'.  We are both First Aid trained and hold a Current Early Years First Aid Certificate.

We have become members of our professional association, The National Childminding Association and, through these, hold public liability insurance.

We have attended courses on child protection and have a certificate in Safeguarding Children. We have enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure - the most stringent available.

Siobhan has previously had a number of years experience in the role of teaching assistant in a local primary school and has been a supervisor of the school's Breakfast Club.

Chris has done voluntary work with children through his own childrens' school's PTFA and swimming club.

We have a number of family pets, including our very friendly Golden Retriever, Maggie. We believe it is important and beneficial that children grow up learning how to care for and interact with animals. The children will be supervised at all times when interacting with our pets.

Most importantly we also have many years of childcare experience, being parents of three children, ages 16, 15 and 5 years.
